Three Countries in a Day: Hungary to Austria, via Slovakia (Wednesday 10th September)

We were sad to say goodbye to wonderful Budapest this morning, but excited to be heading towards Vienna.  Along the way a stop was planned in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia.
After a 2.5 hour drive we arrived at this capital city beside the Danube & made a short walking tour through the charming Old Town, seeing the few low-key sights such as St. Michael's Tower.

We also had time for the obligatory Bratislava photo, with Napoleon outside the French embassy!

 

After free time for lunch, shopping & exploring we rebounded our bus for the drive to Vienna, just another hour or so further on.
We checked-in to our great hotel, the Leonardo, then enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the charming Hungarian-Austrian fusion restaurant 'Mini'.  A great end to another great day.
